My main reaction to the episode was... disappointment, to be blunt. According to wikipedia (yes I *do* have too much time on my hands) it was featured as one of the few episodes where the majority of action is revolved around Manic, I thought "great a little equality for once" perhaps because for once in a blue moon (no pun intended) Sonic wouldn't be the center of attention.
But no, it was not to be, firstly Manic is seen as immature by just riding into the sunset, (or dust cloud in this case) when lo and behold he runs into trouble as per usual, and of course, Sonic has to come to the rescue like a parent having to rescue a little child (I still maintain the trio are triplets and as such are of equal age despite the contradictions the SU team provide) he then gets a LECTURE from Sonic like he is a naughty child!! Why? because he went off on his own accord (this point is brought up later.)
Next comes something that
Bringing myself back to the point earlier about being lectured for going off alone, guess what Sonic does when the return to the van? That's right storms off solo, refusing manic's offer of help as he's too slow (another inconsistency from episode to episode, does the hoverboard travel at Sonic's speed or not?) and despite the hypocritical nature of Sonic, everyone backs him up and they wonder why manic is cheesed off, probably putting it down to a temper tantrum that being perhaps a few hours younger than your siblings makes you prone too...
Of course then Sonic saves the day, while Manic gets into trouble, again, so now he's a deadweight!! Y'know I don't think I've seen any situation in any epidose where Manic has to single handedly save the day, unlike Sonic who seems to do it every other episode, and even Sonia had her moment in "Sonia's choice".
But then again, life's not fair I suppose. Maybe it's not the episode "bug I'm really disappointed with in the end, but more how useless the writers portay Manic at the end of the day.
